Intervarsity Press: What inspired you to write about a tough topic like sin?
Don Everts: A couple years ago I began a serious wrestling match with some of Jesus' teachings about sin. I began to realize that I didn't agree with Jesus. He taught as if sin were very, very serious. I honestly felt that when I sinned, I was just being naughty. The more I studied Jesus' words on sin, the more I realized that he and I disagreed with each other.
